For a contemporary look with abstract appeal, this black over-dyed area rug is skillfully crafted by the revitalization of a genuine hand knotted vintage Turkish rug woven in the 60s or 70s. Made from wool on cotton, this rug measures 4' 8" x 12' 2" (56" x 146"). The process in creating these works of art begins by shearing to lower the pile and to help "distress" them. They are then dyed in one color, a stage that can be repeated several times to reach the desired saturation level and hues that complement and contrast the old.

Kilim.com upon my request for more color info, took additional pictures with crayons and paint swatches sitting on the carpet. That solidified my choice. The rug arrived quickly and the way it was folded and shipped left the rug without marks when placed on the floor. I wasnât expecting it to be of the quality of my parentsâ thick antique Persian rug and it wasnât . For the price, Iâm pleased with this vintage rug. It has more class and personality than a machine made rug you can find at a big box store.
