Inspired by luxurious 16th and 17th century Oushak rugs that once graced the floors of Ottoman palaces, our Oushak collection combines masterful weaving with traditional designs. Featuring the iconic florals, signature motifs and patterns of antique Oushak rugs, they exude opulence and sophistication in classical, traditional, or eclectic interiors. This fine rug measures 10' x 13' 11" (120" x 167").

Design and Motifs

This rug displays a captivating traditional Anatolian design, woven with intricate detail and a balanced palette of soft sky blue, warm rust orange, creamy beige, and accents of deep navy and burgundy. The central field is adorned with repeating geometric motifs that create a visual rhythm, inviting both contemplation and admiration.

  • Gul Motifs: The prominent cross-shaped and star-like patterns scattered across the field are reminiscent of the "gul," a common Anatolian symbol associated with protection and spiritual guidance. Their symmetrical and pointed forms suggest a safeguarding presence, as if watching over the home.
  • Flower Rosettes: These small, rounded shapes symbolize fertility, abundance, and beauty. In this rug, they are carefully arranged to brighten the design and symbolize growth and natural harmony.
  • Ram’s Horns: Some of the angular, curved shapes echo the ram’s horn motif, which inspires strength, courage, and resilience. This connection to strength represents the spirit of endurance in the face of life’s challenges.
  • Border Patterns: The outer borders feature repeating floral clusters and serrated lines, which act like protective frames enclosing the central motifs. These borders symbolize continuity, unity, and the cycle of life.

Integration with Interior Design Styles

This rug harmonizes beautifully with various interior styles, offering both classic charm and adaptable personality:

  • Traditional Interiors: Its handcrafted feel and historic motifs bring authenticity and warmth, complementing antique furniture, carved wood details, and classic upholstery fabrics.
  • Bohemian Spaces: The lively pattern and rich colors layer effortlessly with eclectic décor featuring natural textures, vibrant textiles, and an overall relaxed, artistic vibe.
  • Modern Classics: Placed in crisp, minimalist rooms, the rug acts as a stunning focal piece, adding depth and cultural resonance without overwhelming the clean lines and neutral palettes.
  • Rustic and Farmhouse Styles: The organic colors and tribal symbols connect to nature and artisanal craftsmanship, enhancing spaces with raw wood, stone surfaces, and vintage accents.
  • Eclectic Mixes: This rug's timeless motifs and color harmony provide a grounding touch amid diverse patterns and diverse art pieces, uniting the elements with subtle balance.

Rolling Up

This rug stands as a richly woven tapestry of Anatolian heritage, combining symbolic motifs that convey protection, strength, and abundance. Its versatile color scheme and timeless design integrate seamlessly across interior styles—from the traditional and rustic to modern and eclectic—adding both visual intrigue and emotional warmth. Inviting a connection to tradition and nature, this rug enhances any living space with stories embedded in every knot and stitch.

The kilim has arrived speedily and safely. We are delighted. My spouse loves the kilim—and the colors on the web were true. Amazing to order from Istanbul and getter better service and quality than buying locally. The global economy lives. Thanks for great service and high quality at reasonable prices.

Greetings to you at Kilim.com in Istanbul and hoping this finds you fairly well despite all the craziness throughout the world. The Kilim I ordered JUST This Week!!! already arrived an hour ago at my home in Los Angeles. I eagerly unpacked it because of course it's always a gamble to buy things on the internet, not only because it's from people you don't know, but also because sometimes what you see online looks quite different when it arrives (and not because of malfeasance but also because you see so little in a few pictures). But this time I am happy to report and share with you that the kilim I fell in love with from your picture does not disappoint me at all now that it has arrived. MERCIS!
