Vintage kilim rug handwoven in Turkey with hemp fiber. Turkish villagers produced hemp stalk until the 60s when its production was prohibited together with its cousin, medical cannabis. These Anatolian rugs with modern appeal were mostly woven for drying fruits, to store wheat or as floor covers. This minimalistic rug measures 5' x 9' (60" x 108").
We professionally clean all our vintage rugs, but stains are a reminder of the rugs' history. This rug was recently over-dyed for a more contemporary look. Rug pad recommended.
