Woven with wool on cotton foundation, this "distressed" rug measures 6' 2" x 8' 7" (74" x 103"). The process in creating these works of art begins by shearing to lower the pile and to help "distress" them. They then undergo a series of processes to remove the color. They are now ready to be dyed in one color, a stage that can be repeated several times to reach the desired saturation level and hues that complement and contrast the old.
