This web site is about a fiber-art designer, Belkis Balpinar from Istanbul - Turkey who has started to use the traditional kilim technique to use her contemporary artistic ideas on this medium. It shows some examples of these so-called artkilims as part of interior decoration and as well as wall hangings as art work.
A non-commercial site devoted to textiles, especially tribal weavings where rug enthusiasts can connect through discussion boards focusing on new topics and through the 'salons' with a panel of hosts choosing a topic for discussion about once a week. Collectors are also encouraged to post images and comments of the rugs for discussion on a "Virtual Show-and-Tell" page. Turkotek also provides articles and lecture notes of courses about oriental rugs and related ethnographic textiles.
